Howard is a Senior Director of Engineering at Reddit, leading the organization behind Reddit's content ecosystem — the consumer experiences that turn readers into contributors, help users launch new communities, and equip creators to grow their audiences. He previously led Reddit's Growth organization across acquisition, onboarding, conversion, and retention.
Before Reddit, he was a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, leading the engineering team behind the core ChatGPT experiences on web, iOS, and Android. Earlier he was a Director of Engineering at Google on Search and at Netflix for Netflix.com, began his career as an engineer and tech lead at Goldman Sachs, and co-founded Onramp, a workforce-development startup that raised $2M in seed funding.
I started Apex Leadership Lab because engineering leadership is about more than technical expertise. It is about empowering others, creating environments where innovation thrives, and building diverse teams that reflect the world we serve.
